O mercado de Medicamentos Isentos de Prescrição (MIP) começou a apresentar sinais de desaceleração este ano. Com a taxa de desemprego ainda elevada impactando a renda das famílias, os laboratórios terão que se desdobrar para não perder vendas ao longo de 2017.
"O segmento está crescendo menos do que o imaginado, mas não vemos uma forte retração. Em unidades, o mercado de isentos de prescrição deve avançar cerca de 4% neste ano, depois de crescer 12% no ano passado", projetou o presidente do Sindicato da Indústria de Produtos Farmacêuticos no Estado de São Paulo (Sindusfarma), Nelson Mussolini.
As vendas de MIP no País acumularam 311,19 milhões de unidades entre janeiro a abril deste ano, um volume 0,10% menor em comparação com o mesmo período de 2016, de acordo com dados compilados pelo Sindusfarma.
Mussolini atribui a desaceleração do segmento ao cenário político e econômico do Brasil, cuja expectativa era de uma reversão da tendência negativa para estabilidade ou crescimento antes do novo escândalo envolvendo o governo Temer.
"Espero que, apesar da continuidade da crise política no País, possamos avançar. E a indústria tem novos lançamentos chegando ao mercado com preço maior neste ano", disse ele. Diferente dos medicamentos vendidos sob prescrição médica, no mercado de MIP o governo não controla os preços.
Entre janeiro e abril deste ano, as vendas de MIP avançaram 10,24%, para R$ 3,09 bilhões - já considerando descontos. No período, o Índice de Preços ao Consumidor Amplo (IPCA) registrou alta de 1,10%.
"Alguns segmentos estão sendo muito afetados com a queda dos volumes, mas ainda crescem pelo aumento dos preços. Os isentos de prescrição, nutracêuticos e dermatológicos, que no passado se provaram resilientes à crise, começaram a mostrar sinais de estabilidade ou queda", observou o gerente geral da farmacêutica Abbott no Brasil, Juan Carlos Gaona, em entrevista recente ao DCI.
Estratégias
A Takeda, dona da marca Neosaldina, está apostando em serviços e novas embalagens para estimular a demanda. "O mercado passa por um momento em que precisamos levar soluções inovadoras. Precisamos estar atentos às suas necessidades, hábitos e comportamentos para entendermos o que mais podemos oferecer", afirmou a diretora de marketing de consumer healthcare da Takeda, Bruna Fausto.
Entre as estratégias, a executiva destaca o lançamento de um aplicativo com informações sobre dor de cabeça e uma embalagem especial em "alusão ao Dia Nacional de Combate à Dor de Cabeça", ambas as iniciativas levam a marca Neosaldina.
Já o grupo Cimed está ampliando as vendas beneficiado pelos preços atrativos. "Pode ser que tenha alguma queda nas vendas, em geral, mas vemos que algumas marcas perdem espaço porque o brasileiro está buscando valor menor. Com isso, está ocorrendo uma migração para a nossa marca", pontuou o gerente de trade marketing do Cimed, Lucas Frias.
Segundo ele, os pacotes promocionais, com mais de um item, também estão incrementando as vendas. A estratégia voltada às classes C e D é o que tem puxado a alta nas vendas.
Na avaliação do executivo, os brasileiros continuarão dispostos a trocar medicamentos por marcas mais acessíveis quando a economia local voltar a crescer, característica que deve se tornar um padrão de consumo.
"Já temos uma presença consolidada em farmácias independentes de pequeno e médio porte e agora começamos a trabalhar para atender ao grande varejo. Queremos mostrar que oferecemos um bom retorno, já que não trabalhamos com distribuidor. A rentabilidade é maior para a farmácia", avalia.
A Cimed produziu 270 milhões de unidades no ano passado, entre medicamentos para prescrição, isentos e itens de consumo, com faturamento aproximado de R$ 800 milhões. "Neste ano, esperamos crescer em torno de 25% e faturar o nosso primeiro bilhão", comentou.
Procurada, a Associação Brasileira da Indústria de Medicamentos Isentos de Prescrição (Abimip) responder até o fechamento da edição.
